A Song of Praise
On that day this will be sung,
By Judah's mighty throng:
Our city has the greatest walls,
Salvation makes them strong
Open up our city's gates,
Let the righteous in,
This is where the faithful are,
And freedom is within
You will keep in perfect peace,
Those whose minds are set,
Because they put their trust in You,
And You've not failed them yet
Trust in God, forever He's,
The rock on which we stand,
He that humbles those who dwell,
In high towers of the land
He lays the lofty city low,
And brings it to the ground,
It is cast into the dust,
And groans as it's brought down
Feet are jumping on its back,
The downtrod and the poor,
Make the weight to pound it down,
Till it has life no more
The righteous walk on level paths,
You make the paths run smooth,
It's You who are the Upright One,
And stays the Godly grooves
Lord, we're walking in Your way,
Your laws set pathways straight,
Awaiting for the time You come,
Your name and fame await
My soul is yearning late at night,
My spirit longs for You,
When morning comes I am awake,
To all Your judgments too
Don't show grace to wicked ones,
They'll never learn like that,
Even in an upright land,
They'll keep the devil's hat
The majesty that is the Lord,
Lifts His hands up high,
They can't see the zeal You have,
Let fire make them fly
Lord You make the peace for us,
And all that we have raised,
Has been enabled by your grace,
Your name alone we praise
Other Lords have come and gone,
But You've remained steadfast,
They have died and live no more,
Their spirits didn't last
You punished them and made them pay,
Erased them from our thoughts,
Enlarged the nation for Yourself,
Their lives have come to nought
The glory, Lord, is just for You,
You set the country's breadth,
When people ran in dark distress,
You gave their prayer's breath
Like pregnant women giving birth,
Crying out in pain,
We were in Your presence Lord,
In labour as You came
We were birthing in our screams,
But didn't save the earth,
The people here remain unborn,
Don't recognise Your worth
Your dead will live, their bodies rise,
Those in dust will wake,
And shout for joy: 'Your dew is like,
The dew as morning breaks'
The earth will birth the dead anew,
Go people, hide quick fast!
Wait for just a little while,
Until His wrath has passed
See the Lord, He comes outside,
Correcting this domain,
The blood of sin will freely flow,
And speak for those here slain.
